The Pestrol BirdSweep 360 Boat Railing Mount – 25mm is a purpose-designed mounting attachment for installing the Pestrol BirdSweep 360 – Dynamic 13-Arm Bird Deterrent onto a 25mm diameter boat railing.

Designed for marine applications where a standard flat mounting surface isn’t available, the attachment clamps securely around the railing and provides a stable mounting point for the BirdSweep 360.

The mount is 3D printed from PETG filament and supplied with stainless steel hardware for secure assembly. It also comes with 2 strips of 3M tape already installed inside the mount, plus 1 spare strip, helping provide a smooth, snug fit against the railing.

Compatible with the 4ft, 6ft and 8ft Pestrol BirdSweep 360 models, it’s a practical way to position your bird deterrent on yachts, launches and other boats where birds regularly attempt to land or perch.

PETG 3D-Printed Construction

The main mounting body is 3D printed from PETG filament.

PETG provides a practical combination of strength and slight flexibility for this type of mounting application.

As a 3D-printed component, minor layer lines and small surface variations are a normal part of the manufacturing process and do not necessarily indicate a defect.

Stainless Steel Hardware

The mount is supplied with stainless steel hardware for secure assembly, including:

• Stainless steel hex socket fasteners
• Stainless steel round-head fasteners
• Stainless steel lock nuts

Stainless steel hardware provides improved corrosion resistance for outdoor and marine environments.

As with equipment exposed to salt spray and marine conditions, periodic cleaning, inspection and maintenance are recommended.

3M Tape Inserts – 2 Installed + 1 Spare

Each 25mm mount is supplied with three strips of 3M tape in total:

• 2 strips already installed inside the mount
• 1 additional spare strip

The installed strips sit between the PETG mount and the boat railing to help:

• Provide a smooth contact surface
• Create a snug fit around the 25mm railing
• Reduce unwanted movement
• Provide a protective layer between the mount and railing

The 3M strips complement the mechanical clamp and stainless steel hardware; they are not the sole means of securing the BirdSweep.

Secure Clamp-Style Installation

The mount fits around the railing and is mechanically secured using the supplied stainless steel hardware.

Once installed, check that the attachment is firmly secured and that there is no excessive movement before installing the BirdSweep.

Do not overtighten the hardware to the point that the PETG component becomes unnecessarily compressed or damaged.

Installation

1. Measure your railing and confirm it is approximately 25mm outside diameter.
2. Choose a suitable location for your BirdSweep.
3. Ensure the railing is clean and dry.
4. Check that the 2 pre-installed 3M strips are correctly positioned inside the mount.
5. Fit the mount around the railing.
6. Insert and secure the supplied stainless steel hardware.
7. Tighten evenly until the mount sits firmly around the railing.
8. Attach your Pestrol BirdSweep 360 to the upper mounting point.
9. Check that both the mount and BirdSweep are securely fitted.
10. Check that the BirdSweep arms have sufficient clearance to rotate freely.

Position the BirdSweep where birds most commonly attempt to land or perch.

Before installation, consider:

• Bird activity around the boat
• BirdSweep arm clearance
• Nearby rigging
• Ropes and lines
• Covers and canopies
• Antennas
• Moving equipment
• Access requirements while aboard

The BirdSweep should have sufficient unobstructed space for its arms to move freely.

Important Marine Use Information

Marine environments can place additional stress on mounting equipment, so regularly inspect:

• Fastener tightness
• PETG mount condition
• 3M tape inserts
• Stainless steel hardware
• BirdSweep connection
• Overall mounting stability

Clean accumulated salt and marine residue as required.

We recommend removing or securely stowing the BirdSweep before sailing or getting underway, particularly where its rotating arms could interfere with normal vessel operation.
