This Red & Green Lettuce (Lactuca sativa) mixture will brighten up all your Summer salads with the ‘non-hearting’ varieties of red and green leaves.  The leaves can be picked a few at a time whenever they are required.  The combination of red and green plants make a colourful addition to the vegetable garden and can be used as edging to the vegetable plot or even the flower garden. The packets contain equal quantities of each colour.

How To Grow:

1. Sprinkle thinly, 1.5cm deep, in rows 20-25cm apart.
2. Keep watered and weed free.
3. Harvest: Pick the leaves when they are young for the best flavour.

When To Plant: Spring, and Autumn.  Crops throughout Summer even in hot, dry weather and rarely bolts. Lettuces prefer a sunny position and fairly rich soil.

Harvest: 10-12 weeks, sow at 2 weekly intervals for a continuous supply.
