Agri-Fos® 600 Systemic Fungicide – Professional Strength

Agri-Fos® 600 is a professional-grade systemic fungicide designed for both
preventative protection and curative treatment of fungal diseases across orchards,
horticulture, turf, and nursery environments. It is widely trusted for the management of
Phytophthora and Pythium root diseases.

Unlike contact fungicides, Agri-Fos® 600 works internally within the plant, helping suppress
disease development while supporting the plant’s natural defence systems. Curative performance
is dependent on plants retaining a functional root system capable of nutrient uptake.

Avocado Trees – Trunk Injection Use

Agri-Fos® 600 is widely used in avocado orchards to assist in the management of
Phytophthora cinnamomi, supporting root function, canopy health, and overall tree resilience.

Injection Method (Summary)

• Injection rate is based on tree canopy diameter
• Applied using a 20 mL tree injection syringe
• Injection points spaced evenly around the trunk
• Do not exceed recommended volumes or reduce syringe points
• Seal injection holes after absorption

Recommended Injection Frequency – Avocados

Standard Preventative Program (Healthy Trees)

• Frequency: 2 injections per year
• Timing:
  • Early spring (before strong vegetative growth)
  • Late summer to early autumn (post-harvest or before root stress period)
• Purpose:
  • Maintain systemic phosphite levels
  • Improve tolerance to Phytophthora cinnamomi
  • Support long-term root and canopy health

This is the most common commercial injection schedule used in
New Zealand and Australia for well-managed avocado orchards.

High-Risk or Disease Pressure Program

(Confirmed Phytophthora presence, poor drainage, or declining trees)

• Frequency: Up to 3 injections per year
• Typical timing:
  • Early spring
  • Mid-summer
  • Early autumn
• Minimum spacing: 8–10 weeks between injections
• Maximum: No more than 3 injections per year

This program should only be used where disease pressure justifies increased treatment.

Young Trees (≤ 3 Years Old)

• Avoid trunk injection where possible
• Use foliar or soil-applied phosphite programs instead

If trunk injection is unavoidable:

• Inject once per year only
• Use a reduced total dose based on canopy diameter

Young trees are more susceptible to trunk damage and vascular stress from injection treatments.

Other Crop Uses (Summary)

• Apples: Foliar spray for Phytophthora root rot, canker, and blackspot
• Ornamentals & Nursery Crops: Foliar spray prior to disease appearance
• Turf: Apply after pre-wetting thatch, followed immediately by irrigation

Note: Temporary leaf yellowing may occur after multiple consecutive applications.
Leaves will return to normal colour once applications stop.

Withholding Periods

• Apples: 42 days (export crops – refer to exporter)
• Avocados: Nil

Mixing & Compatibility

• Mixes readily with clean water
• Compatible with most fungicides and pesticides
• Do not mix concentrates directly
• Avoid strong oxidising agents and certain salt-based products

Safety & Environmental Information

• Causes serious eye irritation
• Harmful to terrestrial vertebrates
• Wear protective gloves and eye/face protection
• Avoid contamination of waterways and spray drift

First Aid

• If swallowed: Do not induce vomiting
• If in eyes: Rinse with water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention
• If inhaled: Move to fresh air immediately

Storage & Disposal

• Store in original container in a cool, well-ventilated area
• Avoid direct sunlight, excessive heat, or freezing
• Shelf life: Up to 2 years when stored correctly
• Triple-rinse empty containers and recycle via Agrecovery where available
