Fordhook Giant Silver Beet (Beta vulgaris var. cicla) is popular in Europe and Australia.  This easily grown vegetable will provide a continuous crop, is tasty, versatile – cook the stalks, eat as celery and the rich leaves are a great variation to spinach.

How To Grow:

  1. Drop a few seeds every 40cm in rows 12mm deep and 30cm apart.
  2. Thin out to one plant every 40cm.
  3. Keep well watered.

When To Plant: Early Spring through to early Autumn.

Harvest: 8-12 weeks from sowing.
