Chives (Allium schoenoprasum) are a useful and decorative perennial herb, easy to grow in any garden, window-box or pot. They have attractive pink/lavender flowers and their rush like leaves make it an ideal edging plant.
How To Grow:
Sow 15mm deep in groups of 3-4 seeds, removing the weaker seedlings to leave 1 plant.
Allow 15cm between the plants
Chives will grow in any good garden soil, in sun or partial sun.
Can be grown all year round indoors in good natural light – a north facing windowsill is perfect.
